Assignment 1
We want to make sure that you understand why entrepreneurship is important for our economy. For that reason, we would like you to perform some research, organize your ideas, prepare clear and concise statements and once ready write between 400 and 500 words explaining the number of jobs created by entrepreneurs and small businesses compared to the 500 Fortune companies. Please also explain if you were surprised by what you found out and the potential implications for city, county, state and federal government entities.
Rubric:
Quality of Research: Research was performed and submission clearly states that. Jobs created by entrepreneurs and small firms vs. big companies are included. Source(s) are cited.
Implications: Submission clearly states 3 or more correct implications for government entities.
Assignment 2
Perform some additional research about why the Segway was never a successful product in term of sales (there are hundreds of resources online about this topic). After that, please organize your ideas, prepare clear and concise statements and once ready write between 400 and 500 words in order to explain the weakest links in the entrepreneurial process.
Rubric:
A clear, informed, personal opinion is presented and elaborated on. Additional research, knowledge from the lectures, readings, etc. is incorporated. Appropriate word count and sources are cited.
